Jagdish Raj was enrolled in the Guinness World Record for playing the role of police in his 144 films.
Jagdish Raj is a Bollywood actor who played the role of police in his 144 film in 70s and 80s. He is the most typecast actor. Not only he was enrolled in the Guinness World Record for being 'the most typecast actor', but also hold the Limca book of Records for acting the same role so many times. Jagdish's best known film is Mazdoor, Don, Silsila, Shakti, Aaina, Mehek etc.
Not only he acted in the role of police officer, but also he acted occasionally acted in the role of villain in 'Ek Mahal Ho Sapnoka'. He also acted as a judge in 'Aparadhi', 'Aag Hi Aag'.But he was best known as a most typecast actor who appear in 144 film as a police officer. He played a role of Rajan's father in 'Naamcheen' in 1991.
He played a role of police commissioner in 'Paap Ki Ant', 'Na Insafi', and played a role of police inspector in 'Mazdoor' in 1983.This picture became very popular in that era. His another hits cinema are Sawal, Agnee Pareeksha, Tumhi Kasam, Imman Dharam, Ram Teri Ganga Mail etc.
Jagdish is seen playing the role of Police Training Instructor in 'Yudh', and also seen playing the Managing Director in 'Aaina'. Some of his popular movies is Ram Kasam, Paapi, Dream Girl, Shuhaag, Kala Bazar, Deewar, Mehek etc.

At the press conference his son-in-law Rakesh Malhotra said "Jagdish Raj had been in and out of hospital for the last 2 years and had respiratory problem. He passed away this morning due to respiratory arrest".
The prayer meeting was held on July 30, 2013 at Juhu, Mumbai, May his soul rest in peace.
